It is the world’s largest semiconductor chip producer in terms of revenue, and the developer of the x86 series of microprocessors, which are used in the majority of personal computers (PCs). For nearly a decade, from 2007 to 2016, Intel was rated No. 45 on the Fortune 500 list of the top US firms by overall revenue.
