The OnePlus 10 Pro is the latest premium phone from OnePlus, and it’s got a lot going for it: an incredible screen, fast charging, good battery life and more. But there are also some issues that you might want to consider before making the upgrade.
I’ve been using the new OnePlus 10 Pro for a little over a week now, and it’s really nice. The phone’s design has greatly improved, there’s a super-fast 120Hz display, and its cameras are pretty fantastic for their price. The OnePlus 9 Pro was one of my favorite phones last year, so I’d been looking forward to seeing what OnePlus had done with the 10 Pro.
Design and build
The OnePlus 10 Pro has an excellent design, but you’ll find some Samsung Galaxy S22 elements in it. It’s not a copycat: instead, the OnePlus 10 Pro looks similar to the Samsung flagship because it has a curved display and camera setup with three cameras on the back of the phone.
You won’t find any big design changes from last year’s OnePlus 9 Pro model. The screen size remain same with 6.7 inches and also, overall dimensions remain largely unchanged at 163.2 x 73.6 x 8.7 mm (6.43 x 2.90 x 0.34 in). As such, the phone is slightly heavier than its predecessor at 7.09 ounces (201 grams).
The OnePlus 10 Pro is IP68 rated for water and dust resistance, which means it can withstand being submerged under 1 meter of water for 30 minutes without damage or malfunctioning.
Display
The OnePlus 9 Pro’s display was already one of the best in the business, and not much has changed this time around. The 10 Pro features a 6.7-inch Fluid AMOLED 2K display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 3,216 x 1,440 resolution. It’s bright as hell, too, registering up to 1,100 nits at its maximum brightness setting.
We’ll discuss this more later in terms of battery life performance, but thanks to its 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ compatibility (which is great for watching movies and TV shows), it does feel like your display isn’t quite as powerful as it could be if you stick with a conventional 60Hz refresh rate or even 90Hz.
The OnePlus 10 Pro also supports an always-on display for notifications — although you won’t find any customization options here beyond switching it on or off.
Camera
The OnePlus 10 Pro has an impressive camera setup, and the Chinese phone maker is understandably proud of it. On paper, the specs are excellent: there’s a 48-megapixel main camera with OIS, an 8-megapixel telephoto camera for 3x optical zoom and optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle third camera with freeform lens technology that reduces distortion.
It’s not just about the hardware, either. The software was improved, too: autofocus is faster in dark environments, night photography is better thanks to new algorithms developed in-house by OnePlus’s R&D team, and there’s now something called Color Filter Layer, which allows you to take black and white photos without any colour filter on the lens itself. There’s no monochrome sensor as compared to Onplus 9 Pro.

Performance and Battery Life
The OnePlus 10 Pro is the top-tier model in the company’s latest lineup. It has all the best high-end specs and features, but for a price that’s significantly below other flagships.
OnePlus has earned a reputation for offering flagship performance at midrange prices, and the brand’s latest phone is no exception. The OnePlus 10 Pro features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU, one of the fastest mobile processors available, with an Adreno 650 graphics processor and 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM (the same as in Samsung Galaxy S20 series).
You may be thinking that battery life is as big a concern with the OnePlus 10 Pro as it was for its predecessor, but you’d be wrong. This phone’s 5,000mAh battery is bigger than the 4,500mAh cell in last year’s model and other phones in this price range.
The OnePlus 10 Pro comes with a 80W charger capable of charging the phone from 1% to 100% in just under 32 minutes. It also includes 50W wireless charging and reverses wireless charging for devices such as your AirPods or Galaxy Buds Plus. The company claims charger can give a 50% charge to the phone in less than 15 minutes and fully charge it in 32 minutes over cable or 58 minutes wirelessly.
The OnePlus 10 Pro is a great successor to the OnePlus 9 Pro, but it’s not a world-beater.
OnePlus is responsible for some of the most popular Android phones of this decade. Its first device, the OnePlus One, introduced us to flagship specs at competitive prices. Nowadays, OnePlus devices are more expensive than they used to be, but they still provide good value. The latest model in its lineup is the Samsung Galaxy S20 alternative: The ₹71,999 ($945) OnePlus 10 Pro.
OnePlus has released two versions of the phone simultaneously: The less capacity and less expensive 8GB+128GB (₹66,999; $878) 10 Pro 5G and this 12GB+256GB 10 Pro 5G, which we’re reviewing here. Both have 5G support and high-end internals aimed at making them relevant long after their launch day on May 31st — but only one gets you into an exclusive club of early adopters that don’t mind spending over $1,000 for a smartphone.

The OnePlus 10 Pro price in India starts at Rs.66,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model, while its 12GB RAM + 256GB storage option carries a price tag of Rs.71,999. The phone will be available via Amazon.in and OnePlus.com starting May 18. As part of the initial offers, buyers can get up to Rs. 4,000 off on HDFC Bank credit and debit card transactions and HDFC Bank credit card EMI transactions. A no-cost EMI option is also available with the phone.

Conclusion
The OnePlus 10 Pro is a good phone, but not the great one OnePlus fans may have hoped for. It’s thinner and lighter than previous models, has a big bright display, and an excellent camera, but it is also more expensive than previous generations. If you’re looking for the best phone in this price range and are willing to pay a premium for it, there are other options out there that offer more features.
However, if you want something with good performance, a high-end screen, and decent battery life at a reasonable price point (and don’t mind missing out on some of the latest features), then this might be the right choice for you.
